Thomas, 20, linked up with the Minstermen in October to get some experience under his belt in non-league. He has since impressed with Adam Hinshelwood’s side as they eye promotion to the Football League.
The prospect has made five appearances in all competitions so far, four of which have come in the league, and he has chipped in with a single goal.
In this latest update regarding his situation at the LNER Community Stadium, the Whites have confirmed he has been given the green light to remain where he is this winter.
York City are sat in 2nd place in the table behind Forest Green Rovers and are two points behind the Gloucestershire outfit as they prepare for their upcoming game against Yeovil Town.
Thomas has done well at York City so far and his time in the fifth tier will be boosting his development.
The Crewe-born man has more recently featured for their Under-21’s and has scored 12 goals in 30 competitive outings at that level.
Thomas is yet to play for the Whites’ first-team but will hope his first loan away at York City can boost his chances of eventually featuring for Daniel Farke’s side down the line.
He will be eager to get plenty more game time under his belt over the next few weeks.
