Eddie Gray makes exciting prediction about 15-year-old currently impressing in Leeds academy
Leeds United’s Thorp Arch academy is renowned for being a conveyor belt of talent and Eddie Gray is excited by a 15-year-old that is making waves behind the scenes at Leeds.
While most players coming through the academy have been lured to Leeds from other academies like Charlie Crew, Mateo Joseph and Pascal Struijk, Archie Gray was one that was completely homegrown.
Of course, before the 18-year-old moved to Tottenham for £40m in the summer. But the Gray connection remains strong at Elland Road and the next of the Leeds conveyor belt could well be another member.
Earlier this summer, Daniel Farke took six youngsters with him to Germany for a pre-season training camp alongside the senior squad. One of those six including Crew was 15-year-old wonderkid Harry Gray.
Gray thinks Archie’s younger brother Harry will make it big
Following in Archie’s footsteps, younger brother Harry featured for Leeds’ first team in pre-season despite being just 15 years of age. It comes after scoring eight goals in 11 U18 Premier League games last term.
Alongside the quality and production of the Thorp Arch academy, the bloodline of the Gray family is very strong. It could be about to add another member to the four members of that family to play for Leeds.
Great uncle Eddie told The Daily Record that he thinks 15-year-old Harry is going to be a “good player”, and possibly follow him, grandfather Frank, father Andy and brother Archie in playing for The Whites.
“Archie has grown up watching all the English boys playing and then playing with a lot of English boys in the youth teams. It’s the same with his brother, Harry. He’ll be a good player as well,” Eddie said.
