Spotted: Crysencio Summerville keeps up ex-Leeds United bond with Georginio Rutter.
Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter may have both left Leeds United in the summer, but they remain close friends while embarking on their Premier League journeys.
After missing out on the Premier League, it didn’t come as a shock to see crucial players leave as the lure of the top flight called them.
Crysencio Summerville was the most obvious exit the club expected, but he was followed by Georginio Rutter – bringing the club a combined £65million, plus £40million from Archie Gray previously.
How are Summerville and Rutter getting on the in PL?
Life at West Ham didn’t start well for Summerville, with the Irons enduring a very slow start to the season under new manager Julen Lopetegui, as the Dutchman formed just one part of a hugely expensive recruitment drive.
The winger has shown his class, though, in the limited opportunities he’s had in the top flight, scoring once so far at the London Stadium and incidentally contributing to Manchester United sacking Erik ten Hag, firing in the opener in their 2-1 home win against the Red Devils.
As for Rutter, a move to Brighton did suggest that he was heading to somewhere he’d be more than comfortable developing further, given the Seagulls’ track record for progressing talents.
In his eight consecutive starts, Rutter has managed two goals and two assists while forming a strong bond with veteran striker Danny Welbeck.
Summerville and Rutter remain friends with international break holiday
Despite venturing on pastures new, the skilful duo have remained friends away from Elland Road, as shown by Summerville’s latest Instagram update.
Sharing pictures from a recent trip away during the international break, he showed himself and Rutter on a boat together:
