Hull City star outlines big wish ahead of crunch Luton Town game
The Tigers face fellow strugglers Luton this weekend as Championship football returns from the latest international slumber
Charlie Hughes is the latest Hull City player to demand his side come away from a Championship game with a clean sheet and give themselves a real chance of winning a game for the first time in more than a month.
City are bottom of the table when it comes to shut-outs so far, having kept just one in their first 15 games and it’s been a huge problem for Tim Walter’s side so far in what has been a poor start to the new campaign.
Their inability to stop their opposition from scoring has proved to be their major Achilles heel, and while Walter has poured cold water on the importance, his players are acutely aware of the need to start being tighter throughout the team.
The next opportunity to do that comes when the Tigers return to action at fellow strugglers Luton Town on Saturday when they travel to face the Hatters at Kenilworth Road in a battle of the league’s two underachievers managed by two managers under increasing pressure.
