Preston vs West Brom injury news – as six players out and three doubts
Up to nine players could miss Preston North End vs West Bromwich Albion in the Championship.
Both Preston and West Brom will have to make do without several key men for Saturday afternoon’s clash at Deepdale.
The North End will be without first-choice goalkeeper Freddie Woodman this weekend as the 27-year-old is suspended after being shown a straight red card for handling the ball outside the box midweek. David Cornell, who has played just five times since signing in 2022, is in line to replace him.
Experienced winger Robbie Brady remains sidelined with an ankle ligaments problem and utility option Patrick Bauer has an elbow injury. It’s not all bad news, though, as Ali McCann should come back into midfield following a suspension, while Liam Lindsay is in contention after a groin issue.
For West Brom, Kyle Bartley made a stunning return to action against Sunderland but the man he replaced, Ousmane Diakite, is now a fresh doubt. Grady Diangana, back in training after complaints of a tight calf, is hopeful of coming back in this weekend but there are no guarantees.
Central defensive pair Paddy McNair and Semi Ajayi are expected to spend a while longer in the treatment room, both with hamstring injuries. McNair’s return date is set to be in late December but with his loan ending in January, he may have played his last game for the Baggies. Ajayi, on the other hand, could be out until the spring.
