Analyst Says Recent Dodgers Signing Is A ‘New Wave’ Of Trending Players

The Los Angeles Dodgers have been the talk of Major League Baseball since winning the World Series over the New York Yankees in 2024.
With Juan Soto of the Yankees taking over the headlines thus far in the offseason, the Dodgers are the ones making moves.
The Dodgers signed two-time Cy Young Award-winning starting pitcher Blake Snell, and they also signed postseason star infielder Tommy Edman to a new deal.
MLB Analyst A.J. Ramos revealed that Edman is part of a new wave of players in the MLB.
The Dodgers signed Edman to an extension worth $74 million over five years.
Edman has the ability to play multiple positions including shortstop, second base, and outfield.
Ramos mentions that having a guy like Edman allows the team to stay flexible, especially on whether or not star player Mookie Betts plays infield or outfield.
Edman had a decent regular season for the Dodgers but he shined when it mattered the most in the postseason.
In 16 postseason games, Edman batted .328 with 20 hits, 12 runs scored, two home runs, 13 RBIs, five stolen bases, and a .862 OPS.
The incredible performance by Edman earned him the National League Championship Series Most Valuable Player Award, and it likely got him the new extension this offseason.
