Luton Town have had a disappointing return to the Championship following their relegation last season, and work has already begun to fix the ongoing issues within the squad during the January transfer window.
The Hatters suffered relegation from the Premier League last season despite putting in a strong account of themselves against all odds, but it wasn’t enough to keep them in the division as they were relegated.
However, their return to the Championship has been far from memorable as the club currently finds themselves 15th in the table having lost 50% of their league games and would have been 20th if it wasn’t for a late turnaround against Derby County on Friday evening.
With Luton sitting ten points off the play-off places as the division approaches the halfway stage, there is an initial expectation that the club will look to conduct some incoming business next month with the transfer window open.

As reported by journalist Pete O’Rourke, Luton Town are one of two clubs that are monitoring Wycombe Wanderers midfielder Tyreeq Bakinson ahead of the January transfer window – with the possibility of making a move.
The 26-year-old began his professional career with the Hatters but has since featured for the likes of Sheffield Wednesday and Bristol City in the Championship and likely possess the experience that could help the current crop of young players in that particular area, heading into the remainder of the campaign.
Luton Town face competition from Belgian side Standard Liege for his signature, with Bakinson being under contract having only joined the Chairboys in the summer on a free transfer.

Since making the move to Wycombe Wanderers, Bakinson has made 20 appearances under Matt Bloomfield in all competitions as the club continues to press towards automatic promotion back to the Championship.
