VAR should have recommended a review as Trent Alexander-Arnold pushed James Maddison before Liverpool went on to beat Tottenham, Keith Hackett says.
The Reds eventually won 6-3 in North London on 22 December, but with the game goalless, the England international appeared to shove Maddison to the ground in the box.
Hackett admits that it was a clear push and VAR should have recommended Sam Barrott to review the footage at the monitor after the incident.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, the ex-FIFA and ex-PGMOL chief reacted to the footage after the crazy game had ended.
“It was a clear push with Trent’s right arm extending away from his body,” Hackett said.
“It may well have resulted in a penalty kick looking at this camera angle.

“VAR will have other camera angles available.
“I would have liked VAR to have given Referee Sam Barrott who is having a terrific season to visit the monitor.”
