Everton news as Jordan Pickford contract development revealed
Everton are planning to offer Jordan Pickford a contract at the club until he retires, according to TBR Football.
The news outlet reported on 24 December that sources understand that the England number one could be persuaded to accept the contract.
It’s understood to be a deal until the summer of 2030 with the option of extending it even further given Pickford’s importance to the club.
Jordan Pickford signing a long-term deal will be a major coup for Everton
It would be a major coup if the Toffees get him to sign a six-year contract extension at the club.
Under a new era with The Friedkin Group completing the takeover, the Blues have the potential to become one of the best teams in the country.
While it’s not going to be easy, good decisions off the pitch will go a long way and one can see how it’s impacted Aston Villa so there’s no reason to think why the same cannot happen on Merseyside as well.
Having a goalkeeper to build the new team around is certainly beneficial and even if Pickford does decide to leave, as he’ll be on a long-term contract, clubs will have to pay big money to acquire his services.
It’s certainly a big commitment on his end too as it’s the next six years of his career and it’s usually the younger players that decide to sign such long-term deals.
