Hull City boss opens up on Carl Rushworth future amid Brighton transfer talk.
The Halifax-born stopper has endured a nightmare spell at the club.
Hull City head coach Ruben Selles remained coy over the future of on-loan goalkeeper Carl Rushworth just two days before the transfer window opens for business.
Rushworth has not played since joining City on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion on deadline day in the summer, having been struck down with a serious ankle injury the day before he was due to make his debut against Sunderland in late October.

It’s understood Brighton are now contemplating exercising their right to recall the 23-year-old gloveman when the window opens on Wednesday, with a host of other potential admirers prepared to offer him first team football, once he returns to full training which is expected to be in the near future.
Albion have a limited window to be able to activate the break clause in the season-long loan deal which saw Rushworth join City on deadline day in the summer.
City remain well-stocked in the goalkeeping department with Ivor Pandur in good form, keeping his first clean sheet since August 24 at Blackburn Rovers on Sunday in the 1-0 Ewood Park victory, and have former Champions League stopper Anthony Racioppi yet to make his Championship debut following his summer move.
The Tigers want Rushworth to remain at the club and challenge Pandur for the number one jersey next month, but understand the Seagulls have the right to make the overall decision on his future.

“I think he’s a great goalkeeper, and he was one of the best goalkeepers last season in the Championship,” Selles told Hull Live when asked what the latest on the goalkeeper was. “First of all, he needs to be fit to compete, and then we will make a decision.”
Should Rushworth return to the Amex Stadium, it would free up valuable space in an already jam-packed squad, which would allow Selles some much-needed wriggle room in the transfer market.

Elsewhere, Selles says sporting director Jared Dublin and the recruitment team at City continue to work around the clock in a bid to get transfers done as quickly as possible, with a hope there could be a new signing before the visit of Leeds United on January 4.
“Not that I know of,” the Spaniard said when asked if there were any developments since Boxing Day. “Jared is working with his team. When I’m in those moments, since yesterday afternoon, I have just fully focused for the last 24 hours on the game, so not as far as I know. I will get another update later in the day or tomorrow morning.”
