Norwich City: Thorup opens up on Forson Canaries struggles.
Johannes Hoff Thorup has revealed the heart-to-heart chats that led to Amankwah Forson’s headline-grabbing Norwich City breakthrough.
The 22-year-old plundered a stoppage time brace in an 11-minute cameo from the bench to seal a 2-1 Championship comeback against Coventry City.
Forson had not kicked a ball since November 30, after a bit-part role since his summer move from Austria.
Now Thorup has opened up on the youngster’s struggles to adapt on and off the pitch in England.
“It can be difficult sometimes, especially when you’re not playing,” he said. “If everything is perfect out there then you have a little bit more energy in all the other places of your life, but when you’re not playing that can be difficult. We try to support him and give him as much help and love as possible.
“When they move to other clubs, and it’s not only players from abroad it’s also players from the UK, they travel from a city or country where they have all their friends and all their family close by.
“One thing is the performance on the pitch and in training, but another thing is relations and how to be social when you are away from home.
