European club open talks to sign Leeds United player in ‘recent days’ just a few months after joining.

Leeds United have already waved goodbye to two senior players this month in the form of Charlie Crew and Joe Gelhardt, and now it appears they may be about to see a third player depart.

Wales international Charlie Crew has joined Doncaster Rovers on loan until the summer, while Hull City have swooped to sign Joe Gelhardt on loan. Gelhardt scored his first goal on Tuesday night against QPR.

Leeds’ squad is already down to the bare minimum with the club yet to make any real inroads in terms of new signings at Elland Road this month. A small squad even before exits, in Daniel Farke’s own words.

And yet, a third player could be about to leave Leeds – just a few months after Farke brought him to the club. The chances are, it could be a permanent deal with talks opening in ‘recent days’ to do a deal.

Paris FC open talks to sign Leeds midfielder Josuha Guilavogui
Leeds signed free agent Josuha Guilavogui in October. The seven-time France international was without a club after his contract at Mainz had expired, and after a few offers, Guilavogui opted to move to Leeds.

The decision to come to Leeds came after injuries to Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev. Guilavogui has since made 11 appearances, 10 as a sub in the Championship and one start against Harrogate in the FA Cup.

But he only signed a deal until the summer and is able to be approached on a pre-contract arrangement by non-English clubs. It emerged last week that Ligue 2 side Paris FC want to sign Guilavogui from Leeds.

Interestingly, Paris FC are one of the clubs around the world benefitting from RedBull investment, just like Leeds. Now, RMC Sport say Paris have opened talks to sign Guilavogui in ‘recent days’ ahead of a move.

What Graeme Bailey has told us about Paris eyeing Guilavogui
Another twist in the tale is that Guilavogui’s brother Morgan, who is currently at Bundesliga side St. Pauli, came through the academy at Paris FC. They sit top of Ligue 2 and are pushing for promotion like Leeds.

Graeme Bailey has told LeedsUnited.News that Leeds would not stand in Guilavogui’s way if he wanted to leave for Paris. Certainly, Leeds are now well-stocked in midfield with Ampadu and Gruev fit once again.

So, it could be that Guilavogui’s spell at Leeds – which was always planned to be a whistle-stop tour – is going to end even quicker than even he might have expected. It is unclear what Guilavogui’s stance is.

The real reason why Wilson Isidor’s goal for Sunderland vs Derby County was disallowed.

Sunderland got through their game against Derby County with relative ease on Tuesday night, eventually winning 1-0. Though a 2-0 scoreline may have been a more accurate reading. For a while, it was 2-0.

Wilson Isidor was looking to get back on to scoresheet after his double penalty miss against Burnley in the previous game. And in the second half of the game at Pride Park, the Frenchman scored what was his ninth Championship goal of the season, only for it to be ruled out several minutes later.
