Sunderland waiting on dominoes to fall as Black Cats plot audacious move for £15m star.

Sunderland look desperate to make another signing before the January transfer window slams shuts. Kyril Louis-Dreyfus even looks ready to spend big.

We’ve already seen how ambitious Sunderland owner Kyril Louis-Dreyfus is for this season. The Frenchman has funded Sunderland’s loan signing of Enzo Le Fee from Roma with the Black Cats also having a £20million obligation to buy, in the event of promotion.

And we’ve also just seen Sunderland sign Wilson Isidor on a permanent deal, with reports last summer that the Black Cats’ option to buy stood at £3.5million.

Ahead of deadline day on Monday, we could see yet more money spent by Sunderland’s exciting owner.

Sunderland waiting on possible Cameron Archer deal
Sunderland have been linked with Cameron Archer at Southampton. The Black Cats along with Leeds United are keen on the former Aston Villa man, who joined Southampton in a £15million deal last summer.

Leeds have already seen a loan bid rejected. Sunderland meanwhile are ready to do a loan-to-buy deal for the 23-year-old. The latest comes from Yorkshire Evening Post who say that ‘moves elsewhere in the Premier League’ could allow Southampton to bolster, and in turn offload Archer in what’s left of the winter window.

Sunderland’s promotion rivals Leeds remain confident of sealing a deal for Archer before the window shuts.

What Southampton manager Ivan Juric has said about Cameron Archer
Speaking to the press recently, Southampton boss Ivan Juric gave his verdict on Archer and his future at St Mary’s, amid all this emerging transfer interest.

He said: “I don’t think something will happen. He will stay with us and we will work with him.”

With Southampton wanting to bolster before they consider selling Archer, it simply looks like Sunderland and any other interested team has left it too late to sign the winger.

But with the Saints looking set for relegation this season a summer move for Archer could become likely especially if the Black Cats earn promotion.
