Rob Tanner issues honest response when asked if Ruud van Nistelrooy has lost the Leicester City dressing room.
Leicester City have been on a dire run of form.
Eight losses out of their last nine games in the Premier League has seen Leicester drop into the relegation zone.
The Foxes were thumped 4-0 by Everton at the weekend in perhaps the worst away performance in years.
Ruud van Nistelrooy already finds himself under pressure and there has been some discontent over his decision to repeatedly bench Facundo Buonanotte.
There’s been rumours of a bust-up between the pair and Caleb Okoli’s name was also thrown into that report, too.
With that said, Rob Tanner has just responded when asked if Van Nistelrooy has lost the dressing room.

Rob Tanner says Ruud van Nistelrooy has backing of players
Whilst Van Nistelrooy has certainly had a few heated discussions with his players, most notably after the Fulham defeat last month, it’s understood he still has the backing of the dressing room and is well-liked.
“No, no I don’t think he’s lost the dressing room at all, because he’s a very aimable, decent man” Tanner said.
“He’s got a bit of an aura around him and I remember people at Man United telling me this when I was trying to find out what sort of coach he was.
“They were saying very popular with the players and I think you can remember when they beat Leicester and Casemiro came running over to bench to celebrate with Ruud, you know there was a connection there, there was a mutual respect and I think Ruud’s tried to treat all the players as human beings first and footballers second at the moment.”
Players are enjoying working under Van Nistelrooy
Tanner further cemented the idea that the players are still playing for Van Nistelrooy as he noted they’re enjoying his ideas and methods.
“It’s a shame the results have gone the way they have for Ruud because right now, when you talk to some of the people around the players, they’re enjoying it under Ruud.
He’s authoritative and certainly he told them after the Fulham game a few home truths as you’d expect every manager to do, you want a manager to lead.”
It seems Van Nistelrooy’s style of play has much more of a buy-in from the squad than Cooper’s, so it’s just been a lack of quality of late rather than a disconnect with the coaching staff.
There’s a lot more continuity around the football club with the Dutchman at the helm and hopefully that’ll translate to some positive results over the coming weeks.
