Got a feeling…” – Gary Neville’s made yet another bold Liverpool prediction vs. Tottenham
Gary Neville has predicted that Tottenham will get a draw away to Liverpool in the EFL Cup, as he once again downplays the brilliance of this Reds side.
Arne Slot’s team welcome Spurs to Anfield on Thursday evening, looking to make it into the final and overcome their 1-0 deficit from the first leg.
There is plenty of work to do for Liverpool, but they will still be favourites to make it through the tie, not least because of their opponents’ injury problems.
Neville is known for his bold predictions when it comes to the Reds, seemingly finding it difficult to ever fully shrug his Manchester United bias, even saying his former club would finish above them in the Premier League this season.
Speaking on It’s Called Soccer [via The Boot Room], the ex-United and England right-back said that Spurs will get a draw at Liverpool, progressing to the final to face Newcastle United in the process.
“I think Tottenham,” Neville said.
“I think Tottenham are going to get a draw. I don’t know how they’re going to get a draw at Anfield, but I feel like it’s going to be an emotional, mad night where something happens.
“Postecoglou said earlier on in the season…I’m maybe not hanging my hat on what he’s saying entirely, but I’ve just got a feeling Tottenham…I’ve got a feeling Tottenham could win the Carabao Cup this season.
“And I’ve got a feeling that, to be fair, they’re always going to have to come through a moment like this. It will be absolute Liverpool favourites, but I feel somehow Tottenham are going to get a draw by hook or by crook.”
