What Ange Postecoglou now wants from Tottenham’s board amid increasing sack threat.
Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou is under increasing pressure in wake of Spurs’ League Cup loss to Liverpool.
Spurs have been struggling in the Premier League but it was hoped that the League Cup could prove a welcome distraction.
Tottenham went to Liverpool leading 1-0 from the first leg, but found themselves on the receiving end of a 4-0 thrashing as the Reds reached the final at Spurs’ expense.
Tottenham’s capitulation led to criticism from pundits such as Jamie Redknapp, who said Spurs fell to a “horrendous” defeat and lacked fight.
Now, a report has emerged regarding Tottenham’s stance on Postecoglou’s future and what the manager is said to have asked from the Spurs board.
Ange Postecoglou wants to be given time at Tottenham to get the best out of Mathys Tel
Tottenham are next in action on Sunday when they head to Aston Villa for their FA Cup fourth-round encounter.
Should Spurs fail to win this, then Ange Postecoglou could find himself on the brink at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, according to GiveMeSport.
It is said that influential figures at Tottenham are fully behind Postecoglou, as per Daniel Levy’s willingness to dip into the transfer market in the final hours of the winter window.
However, Spurs being beaten by Aston Villa and exiting two cup competitions in a matter of days could leave Postecoglou’s future at Tottenham in jeopardy, said the report.

Meanwhile, the outlet has reported that Postecoglou wants to be handed enough time to get the best out of deadline day recruit Mathys Tel.
This comes after Postecoglou stressed how crucial Tel is to his long-term plans and Tottenham’s wider commitment to developing elite up-and-coming talent.
What Postecoglou has publicly said about Tel
Postecoglou has expressed his delight with signing Tel, saying he feels the Bayern Munich loanee will be a “perfect fit” for Tottenham.
“I had a conversation with him and purely around the football and that I think he’ll find a great place here in terms of where is in his career,” said the Spurs boss.
“We’ve shown irrespective of age, he’ll get an opportunity and the way we play will suit him and what we have in the next few months and beyond it’s a perfect fit.
