De’Andre Hunter’s Cavaliers debut revealed after Hawks trade
New Cleveland Cavaliers forward De’Andre Hunter knows the day of his debut with the team.
The Cavaliers acquired Hunter from the Atlanta Hawks, in exchange for Caris LeVert and Georges Niang, on Feb. 6.
Hunter will make his anticipated debut for the Cavaliers on Monday against the Minnesota Timberwolves, per the team’s sideline reporter Serena Winters. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. ET.
Hunter joins the squad with numbers of 19 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game after 37 appearances this season. He is shooting 46.1% from the field and 39.3% from beyond the arc.
The Cleveland Cavaliers made a big move by moving on from Caris LeVert and Georges Niang, players who provided sparks off the bench. However, adding De’Andre Hunter to the equation seems to have given them another dimension to their squad.
Hunter showcases remarkable length as he stands at 6-foot-8. His versatility on offense and defense gives the Cavaliers an advantage in matching up with some of the best squads in the NBA.
Hunter averaged 14.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists throughout his career with the Atlanta Hawks. He has playoff experience to support his ability to lead his team to wins, putting up 16.3 points per contest after 16 appearances throughout three postseasons.
