Leeds United are now in talks to sell Rasmus Kristensen to Eintracht Frankfurt for just £5m after agreeing on a £12.5m option to buy as per Bild..
Leeds United are currently focused on their bid for promotion back to the Premier League. LUFC are top of the Championship table after another rampant midweek win, this time over Watford.

However, while Daniel Farke, his players and coaching staff focus on on-pitch matters, the club hierarchy will be lining up transfer business for the summer. Departures and outgoings will be expected regardless of how the season ends and one likely to leave the club for good is Rasmus Kristensen.
Now, according to a report from Bild, Leeds United are in talks to sell him for less than the agreed-upon buy option in his Eintracht Frankfurt loan.
The German news outlet claims talks are ongoing over a deal worth only £5m. That comes in at significantly less than the £12.5m buy option negotiated when Kristensen linked up with the Bundesliga side in the summer.
Kristensen has impressed out on loan and started regularly, so while there may be a desire from LUFC to offload him permanently, to do so for far less than the agreed fee would raise eyebrows.
Kristensen’s time away from Leeds United
Leeds United will have been disappointed by Kristensen’s first season in their colours and he hasn’t played for them since the drop to the Championship. As such, should they return to the Premier League, the Whites will be eager to get him off the books permanently.

After spending last year in Italy with AS Roma, Kristensen has found success in Germany with Frankfurt. The 27-year-old has managed two goals and three assists in 27 games.

He’s started regularly on the right-hand side as either a wing-back or full-back and has covered as a right-sided centre-back when called upon too.
LUFC must stand firm
As touched on before, there may well be a desire to get Kristensen off the books this summer. However, given how he’s played, it would be bizarre from Leeds United to agree to such a lower fee.
The Whites would be just about recouping what they paid for Kristensen with a £12.5m sale, so accepting less when finances are so key is not advisable.
Time will tell whether anything comes of the reports though. Frankfurt may be trying to strike a cheap deal but LUFC must tell them it’s the £12.5m or nothing.
