Phillips made his debut in the same year in a Carabao Cup clash against Hartlepool United and went on to play 14 times for Rovers.

Spurs then lured him down south in 2023 but he is yet to feature for their senior team.

He was loaned out to Plymouth Argyle last winter and played 20 matches for the Pilgrims to help them avoid relegation to League One.

Phillips went back at the end of last term before he was allowed to link up with Stoke City in late August.

What now for Stoke City?
The Potters won 1-0 away at Phillips’ old team Plymouth Argyle last time out so are in confident mood during this international break.

They find themselves sat in 11th place in the table and have six points on the board from their first four fixtures.

Schumacher’s side are back in action next weekend with an away trip to the Kassam Stadium to take on newly promoted Oxford United. The U’s have adapted well so far to the step up.
