The latest Sunderland team news as Regis Le Bris’ side gear up to face Hull City in the Championship this Saturday.
Sunderland host Hull City at the Stadium of Light this weekend and will be looking to bounce back from defeat last weekend.
Sunderland have had an excellent season but are now falling away from the top two. SAFC have been involved in the automatic promotion hunt but with an eight-point gap to 2nd, it now seems unlikely.
Regis Le Bris’ side had enjoyed an unbeaten start to 2025 until Pascal Struijk’s last-gasp winner for Leeds United on Monday night. The Black Cats had led for the majority of the game after Wilson Isidor’s first-half goal.
Now though, they face a battle to maintain their unbeaten home record as Hull City come to Wearside.
Sunderland beat Hull 1-0 in the reverse fixture another Isidor goal. They have struggled at home recently, failing to beat Watford and Plymouth Argyle on their own patch.
The Tigers however have lost two of their last three games, making SAFC favourites here.
Ruben Selles’ side drew 1-1 last time out with Norwich City. They also beat Sheffield United 3-0 away from home just four games ago, so Sunderland will be wary of meeting the same fate.
