Three Leeds United players who can replace Manor Solomon in title clash against Sheffield United
Daniel Farke has got a number of attacking options at his disposal
Manor Solomon faces a race against time to prove his fitness for Leeds United’s top-of-the-table clash at Sheffield United. The skilful attacker is a big injury concern ahead of the Yorkshire derby.
Speaking at Friday’s pre-match press conference, Farke revealed that Solomon took a big knock in the first half of the win against Sunderland. Solomon will be put through his paces by the Whites’ medical team over the weekend as they continue their preparations for Monday’s meeting.
“There’s a question mark over Manor Solomon,” admitted Farke. “Hee took a nasty tackle in the last game and wasn’t able to join us in team training in the last few days.
“He is progressing well, perhaps he can return to training tomorrow or Sunday. If he’s not able to train, he won’t travel with us. He’s the only question mark.”
The Whites head to Bramall Lane two points clear of the Blades and full of confidence following four straight Championship wins. But who could replace Solomon in the starting XI if the Israel international is ruled out? Leeds Live has taken a look at three potential candidates:
Wilfried Gnonto
Leeds have got some seriously good options in the wide areas. So much so that Gnonto has found himself marooned on the bench since the turn of the year (his last league start came away to Derby County on December 29). Given the outstanding form of Daniel James and Solomon, it has proven difficult for Gnonto to force his way into the side.
