Phillips has a slight tear in his rotator cuff. He also noted that the rehab process is going well. He should be ready in mid-April. There is no reason the Dodgers should rush the 30-year-old reliever after he had to miss the backend of the 2024 playoff run, especially with the depth they already have in the bullpen following the signings of Tanner Scott and Kirby Yates. Dodgers faithful know how good Phillips can be, but he had a slight down year in 2024, posting a 3.62 ERA over 54 innings. In 2022, he pitched to a minuscule 1.14 ERA in 63 innings and struck out 77 batters. In 2023, he served as the team’s primary closer with 24 saves.
