Phil Parkinson shares Ryan Longman verdict after Wrexham win he got ‘better and better’ against Mansfield Town…
Wrexham bounced back from defeat to Leyton Orient by beating Mansfield Town 2-1 away from home on Sunday afternoon.
Wrexham’s promotion push was given fresh life on Sunday afternoon as Phil Parkinson’s side got back to winning ways.
Losing 2-1 to Leyton Orient in midweek was a major blow for Wrexham but Sunday’s trip to Mansfield Town offered a chance to get back on track.
Nigel Clough’s side have been in torrid form of late and they actually set Wrexham on their way themselves.
Calum Macdonald’s early own goal gave Wrexham the lead before the defender levelled it up for Mansfield.
Wrexham still found a winner though as Max Cleworth powered home a low drive, securing a 2-1 victory and three vital points.

Phil Parkinson praises Wrexham signing
Parkinson rang the changes in the Wrexham lineup as he attempted to recover from that Orient defeat.
The Wrexham boss saw Wycombe Wanderers drop points over the weekend and this was a perfect chance for Wrexham to cut the gap again.
Now down to three points, Wrexham will be looking to take real confidence and pile the pressure on the Chairboys.
Parkinson has hailed Sebastian Revan but has also offered a word of praise for right wing back Ryan Longman.
January signing Longman came in for Ryan Barnett, slotting in at right wing back for his first League One start in a Wrexham shirt.
Parkinson told Wrexham’s official YouTube channel that he felt Longman really grew into the game and was getting ‘better and better’ before Barnett came on to take his place.
Parkinson highlighted that he will make changes for this week’s EFL Trophy clash with Peterborough United in an attempt to keep Wrexham fresh, so Longman may well be back on the bench again come Wednesday night.
“Longy grew into the game, he got better and better and we’re going to be making changes always,” said Parkinson.
“If Wednesday was a league game, we’d be making a lot of changes. It’s a cup game, it doesn’t make any difference, we’ve got to keep freshening the team up now and make sure we’re strong and give ourselves the best chance to progress on Wednesday night,” he added.
