NY Jets trade down and complete their OL in 7-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft.
The NY Jets are entering a crucial offseason with a new regime leading the charge in 2025. Head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey will be tasked with correcting the mistakes made by the previous regime and laying the foundation for future success.
Much of that work will come in the 2025 NFL Draft, where the Jets are slated to pick seventh overall. The Jets have been projected to select a number of different players in recent mock drafts, but what if the team received an opportunity to trade down?
That’s exactly the scenario we explored in our latest mock. Using Pro Football Focus’ mock simulator, we assumed the role of Jets general manager and executed a trade down with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Our scenario sees the Buccaneers send their 2026 first-round pick to the Jets as they moved up from No. 19 overall to No. 7. The Jets also sent one of their sixth-round picks, No. 185 overall, in the deal.

Round 1, Pick 19: Armand Membou, OT, Missouri
The Jets have four of their five starting offensive linemen under contract entering 2025, but they might be looking for a new right tackle. Missouri’s Armand Membou is one of the fastest-rising offensive line prospects in this draft class and could fill that role.
Membou has started at right tackle for Missouri over the last three seasons, posting a stellar 90.4 Pro Football Focus grade in a 2024 season in which he didn’t allow a single sack.
At 6-foot-3, 314 pounds, Membou lacks ideal size for the position, with some believing he projects best as a guard at the NFL level. But there will be plenty of teams who view him as a starting right tackle in the pros — the Jets might be one of them.
Round 2, Pick 42: Jack Sawyer, EDGE, Ohio State
The Jets need to find ways to bolster their defensive line this offseason. Ohio State’s Jack Sawyer is the exact archetype of edge rusher this Jets’ defense can really use moving forward.
At 6-foot-5, 260 pounds, Sawyer is a tough and powerful 4-3 defensive end prospect who was the heart and soul of Ohio State’s defense over the last few seasons. What he lacks in athleticism and twitchiness he makes up for in brute force and a deceptively quick first step.
Sawyer plays with a relentless motor and very much feels like a player Aaron Glenn would want as part of his defense. He also racked up 18 sacks over the last two seasons, proving he can be a very effective power rusher at the next level.
Round 3, Pick 92: Harold Fannin Jr., TE, Bowling Green
The Jets will revamp their tight end room this offseason, and with such a deep and talented tight end class, it seems inevitable that the team will add someone come late April. Bowling Green’s Harold Fannin Jr. could be an ideal Day 2 target.
Fannin set a new FBS record in 2024, finishing with 117 catches for 1,555 yards, both of which were the most by a tight end in a single season in college football history. His production is what put him on the map, but he has the skill set to translate to the NFL level.
At 6-foot-4, 230 pounds, Fannin is a fluid athlete and a smooth route-runner who compares similarly to the likes of Juwan Johnson and Isaiah Likely. He’ll never be a particularly strong in-line blocker, but he has the receiving chops to be a dangerous playmaker in the Jets’ offense.
Round 4, Pick 108: Andrew Mukuba, SAF, Texas
All four of the Jets’ top safeties are pending free agents this offseason, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the new regime overhaul the position group in the coming months. One player who could pique their interest in the middle rounds of the draft is Andrew Mukuba.
The Texas product is a versatile safety prospect who shined as a traditional free safety in 2024. Mukuba flashed his playmaking upside, recording five interceptions in his lone season with the Longhorns this past year.
At 6-foot, 190 pounds, Mukuba could continue to rise up draft boards if he tests well at the NFL Combine. He would be a fun addition to Glenn’s defense with the potential to start early in his career.
Round 5, Pick 145: Pat Bryant, WR, Illinois
With Davante Adams and Allen Lazard expected to be released in the coming weeks, the Jets will have to make some additions to their wide receiver room this offseason. One Day 3 prospect who could be an intriguing developmental project is Pat Bryant.
