Philadelphia 76ers Announce Veteran Will Undergo Wrist Surgery…
It would be an understatement of epic proportions to call this an injury-riddled season for the Philadelphia 76ers. The early hope was that things would get better over time but instead, it is getting worse. A lot has been made of the situation of Joel Embiid in recent days as it looks like he might need to undergo surgery on his knee again. Most Sixers fans believe that there is no point pushing it back any further with the Sixers sitting at 12th in the East. If Embiid does need surgery, he should have it as soon as possible and start resting up in hopes of being ready for the start of next season. But before any decision is made on Embiid and his potential need for surgery, another 76ers player is set to undergo one. Eric Gordon will undergo surgery on his right wrist on
Wednesday. No timeline has been given at this time. Gordon was signed in the offseason and the veteran was doing a decent job as a role player for the Sixers. Gordon has averaged 19.7 minutes per night this season while playing 39 times and made a decent number of starts as well. Gordon averaged 6.8 points while shooting 40.9% from three-point range and being the Sixers’ most consistent outside shooter. So, his injury does come as a blow for the 76ers, who have no lack of problems at the moment. Most fans believe that the time has come to give up on this season and start aiming to improve their draft lottery chances.
