Wolves suffered defeat to Fulham in what was an unacceptable second-half performance from the squad at Molineux.

Vitor Pereira was far from satisfied with how his squad performed against Fulham, who walked away from the West Midlands with three points..

Wolves lost 2-1 to Marco Silva’s side courtesy of two early mishaps, conceding one minute into the first half and then, two minutes into the second.

Pereira’s frustrations were justified as his team failed to get themselves back into the game after Jose Sa’s error to allow Rodrigo Muniz to score, in what was a deflating second-half showing.

Marco Silva shares damning assessment of Wolves
While Pereira had some success with his half-time team talks earlier in the season, the Wolves manager’s advice certainly didn’t go through to his players against Fulham.

Muniz scored to give the visitors the lead moments after the restart, which was a match-defining moment for the Old Gold who bizarrely didn’t react to going behind.

For a squad in a relegation battle, the lack of fight was surprising, with even the Fulham manager commenting on Wolves’ missing desire to come back from the early error.

“We had a very good chance with Rodrigo to score the 2-1. After the 2-1, we controlled the game in a different way – a much more medium-low block.

“Sometimes we don’t like to not have the ball, it was difficult for us because we were not able to keep the ball the first 30 minutes of the second half,” Silva said in his post-match press conference.

What the Fulham boss said next was alarming for Pereira, as the coach was stunned by the lack of chances Wolves created after the interval.

“The reality is that Wolves had all the ball, but didn’t create one chance second half. I think our organisation, the way we defended, togetherness was there – not one chance in the 52 minutes of the second half.”

A result was needed against Fulham to build on the hard-fought win over Bournemouth but, such level of desire was not traceable at Molineux, which was a real blow for the Old Gold.

Wolves’ second-half performance infuriated Vitor Pereira
Multiple times, Pereira has expressed that he wants to see a complete performance for 90 minutes from his side but, such seems so difficult to achieve.

It’s frustratingly why the Old Gold are stuck in 17th place failing to make sufficient tweaks to earn results despite being up against it.
