Alex Mowatt shoots warning at former club – Leeds United have nothing to fear against West Brom
Leeds United are flying high after beating Sheffield United 3-1 at Bramall Lane on Monday night. They now have a five-point lead at the top of the Championship table and have a seven-point buffer in the automatic promotion race. While they have another 12 games remaining in the league season, Leeds are now almost certain to get promoted to the Premier League at the end of the campaign. They will aim to go another inch closer with a win over West Brom at home on Saturday. However, a former White has issued a warning against Leeds as he prepares to wear opposition colours this weekend.
The sense of anticipation of Leeds United getting promoted to the Premier League is palpable around Elland Road and they are now expected to become a top-flight club again next season.
Leeds boss Daniel Farke has been trying hard to keep the players grounded and focused for the remaining 12 games of the season but if you are a Whites fan, it is hard not to get excited
They still have a few tough games and West Brom on Saturday will not be any pushovers as they are sitting fifth in the table and are looking to secure a playoff spot.
West Brom also have a player from the Leeds academy in Alex Mowatt who has been a key figure for the Baggies this season and in their push to finish in the top six.
The former Leeds star has set his eyes on pouring some cold water on the celebratory mood around Elland Road when the two sides meet on Saturday.
