Oxford United v Coventry City: Key Sky Blues players
OXFORD United welcome a talented Coventry City side this weekend, with the visitors targeting a Sky Bet Championship play-off place at the end of the season.
The Sky Blues sit seventh in the table, a point shy of the top six, and have won seven of their last eight league matches.
We picked out six key players to keep an eye on this weekend.
Bobby Thomas
The 24-year-old centre back began his career at Burnley, where he had loan spells at Barrow AFC, Bristol Rovers and Barnsley.
Thomas then linked up with the Sky Blues in a permanent deal in July 2023, and has since made 84 appearances for the club.
He has been involved in 35 games this season, and has found the net on four occasions.
Milan van Ewijk
The 24-year-old right back is a wonderful attacking threat, and provides both width and quality down the right-hand side.
He played for Den Haag and Heerenveen in the Netherlands prior to joining the Sky Blues in July 2023.
Since then, he has played 87 times for the club, and provided a goal and an assist in the reverse fixture back in August.
Josh Eccles
The 24-year-old midfielder was born in Coventry and came through the Sky Blues academy.
Eccles has made 154 appearances for the club, and has three goals and three assists in the league this season.
He spent the first half of the 2020/21 campaign on loan at Gillingham, where he featured 14 times.
