Red Sox’s Trevor Story Shows Early Progress On Pressing Question
Trevor Story is a bonafide X-factor for the Boston Red Sox in 2025. If the team is going to snap a three-year postseason drought, Story has to be a big reason why.
He’s played just 161 games in his first three seasons in the Red Sox with a .693 OPS. His glove changes the complexion of the infield with his elite defense, but he hasn’t stayed on the field and the bat didn’t transition well from Coors Field to Fenway Park on a regular basis.

The underlying factor to be considered is how much of an impact a healthy Story and Triston Casas make for the roster. Boston went 81-81 without those two players for the majority last season. While the incoming stars deserve that focus, just the healthy return of Story and Casas can significant raise potential in 2025.
