Humphrey Ker left baffled by what some Wrexham fans have been saying this season
It’s easy to forget that Wrexham were still plying their trade in the National League just two years ago.
Wrexham face Rotherham United in a League One meeting this weekend and are favourites to win.
Should they pick up the three points at the Racecourse Ground and results elsewhere go their way, the Red Dragons could end Saturday sat second in the table.
Even if Wrexham do not end up finishing behind Birmingham City this season, they are almost certainly going to get a shot at promotion via the play-offs in the 2024/25 season.
Should the Red Dragons indeed go up, they will have won three promotions on the spin – a simply insane record.
But even if a place in the 2025/26 Championship does elude them, this campaign has still been a major success for Wrexham, despite fan frustration showning at times.
Humphrey Ker confused by some Wrexham fan’s claims
It’s easy to forget, given their recent success, that the Welsh side were still playing National League football in 2023 and had been in that division for 15 years.
Though they eventually went on to dominate that league and finish second in League Two last term, their chances of winning another promotion in the current season seemed small.
