Luton Town, Luton Town boss picks out which player ‘pleased’ him with performance against Millwall

Luton Town boss Rob Edwards has said he was ‘pleased’ with Thomas Kaminski’s performance over the weekend.

Luton Town’s goalkeeper kept a clean sheet as they won 1-0 away at Millwall in their most recent Championship outing. Defender Teden Mengi scored their winner against the Lions in the first-half at The Den.

Kaminski, 31, played his part as the Hatters secured an important three points. He has been a key player for the Hatters since his move to Kenilworth Road.

Edwards has said, as per a report by Luton Today: “I was pleased with our goalkeeper. Away from home in the Championship, you’re going to need him. He’s not getting worked as much as he was last year at the moment, but made a couple of big saves when required.

“It was so stop-start, and I feel drained after that as it became a real slog. But the last two times we came here, nil-nil last time, one-nil today, a couple of clean sheets here is difficult to do, so we showed a lot of character.”

Kaminski is a safe pair of hands for Luton Town between the sticks.

He joined the Bedfordshire outfit back in August last year following their promotion from the Championship.

The stopper has since been their number one and made 38 appearances in all competitions during his first year.

The Hatters ended up getting relegated from the Premier League after finishing in the bottom three along with Burnley and Sheffield United.

The Belgium international, who has made one cap for his country, moved to England in 2020 to join Blackburn Rovers following spells at OH Leuven, Kortrijk and Gent.

He was a hit during his time at Ewood Park and played 118 matches during his time in Lancashire before Luton Town swooped in.

Kaminski will take a lot of confidence from his clean sheet against Millwall.

It has been a slow start to the season for the Hatters and it has taken them a while to adapt to life back in the Football League.
