Everton showed interest in Longstaff during the January transfer window, but were unable to reach an agreement.
According to Bailey’s sources, the Toffees will return once again in the summer for the 27-year-old midfielder.
It is understood a potential move to Bramley-Moore Dock would appeal to the Newcastle Academy product.
Longstaff was also in favour of an Everton move earlier in the year.
