Paul Merson makes new claim about West Ham fans in Everton scoreline prediction
Paul Merson has shared his prediction ahead of West Ham United travelling to Everton in the Premier League this weekend.
The Hammers have had a poor Premier League season that has seen them languishing in the 16th place with just 33 points.
While they remain 16 points clear of the drop zone, this was not the expected outcome after their £155million spending in the summer transfer window.
They face Everton, who are also on same points as the Irons but with a better goal difference. David Moyes, the current Everton boss has managed to turn the Toffees’ fortunes around, guiding them to four wins and four draws in last nine games.
Graham Potter, on the other side, is trying to steady the ship and course their way out of the turbulent waters. Potter has won three games and lost four since taking over the reins but has only marginally improved West Ham’s state.
West Ham face tough test against improving Everton
West Ham will travel to Everton on the back of a 1-0 home defeat to Newcastle United. Potter’s side have suffered four defeats in last seven games and are hoping to claw their way back up in the Premier League standings.
Goodison Park has been a happy hunting ground for the Hammers as they have won three of their last four encounters at Everton’s home stadium.
Hammers will look to create some distance between them and Everton as both are tied on 33 points. However, pundit Merson is unconvinced regarding West Ham’s chances against the Toffees.
