Training Ground Guru | Danny Röhl - Sheffield Wednesday's great escape

Sheffield Wednesday currently have three first-team players out on loan, getting experience and game time under their belts elsewhere.

Sheffield Wednesday won’t be giving up hope of a play-off finish just yet but their chances have slimmed greatly. SWFC sit 12th in the Championship table, six points off the top six with eight games left.

Training Ground Guru | Danny Röhl - Sheffield Wednesday's great escapeIt means the Owls will likely be facing another season of second-tier football in the 2025/26 campaign. They’ve made good strides this season and will be eager to maintain their upward trajectory.

Decisions are to be made over incomings and outgoings though, and there are three players on loan away from Hillsborough whose fates will need to be decided.

Here, we deliver a verdict on the futures of Sheffield Wednesday’s three loanees…

Training Ground Guru | Danny Röhl - Sheffield Wednesday's great escape19-year-old striker Bailey Cadamarteri is one of the hottest prospects at Sheffield Wednesday and with a deal until 2028, he’s got a long-term future at Hillsborough ahead of him.

It could be that SWFC send him out on loan again. This season with Lincoln City has yielded eight goals in 31 games, a respectable return given some injury struggles and a battle for a starting berth.

Training Ground Guru | Danny Röhl - Sheffield Wednesday's great escapeSheffield-born midfielder Sean Fusire is another solid prospect under contract until 2028. A winter loan to Carlisle United was granted but unfortunately, that hasn’t panned out as hoped.

Fusire was one of several January additions made by the Cumbrians before sacking Mike Williamson, the manager that signed the Sheffield Wednesday talent, shortly after the window closed.
