Frank Lampard admits he’s trying to “knock superstition out of his head” after dodging the potential bullet of the curse of the Manager of the Month.
The Coventry City boss was in the running for the February award that went to Daniel Farke instead. Leeds promptly lost 1-0 at Portsmouth and although they bounced back with a win at Millwall, they only managed a point at QPR before the international break and now share top spot in the Championship with Sheffield United, currently leading the way by virtue of a superior goal difference.
Asked about the so-called curse and if he’s superstitious about such things, the Sky Blues boss said: “Yeah, maybe. I’m trying to knock superstition out of my head in football because you can end up with walking a tightrope all week, day to day, to try and get a result from things will have no consequence on the result. And it can become a problem, you know. And so it’s quite tiring.
“So while I’m not old yet, but with my age I’m trying to cut those things out.”
