Chris Wilder has spelled out Sheffield United’s tactics as the Blades boss prepares to take on Coventry City in Friday night’s game under the lights at Bramall Lane.
The Sky Blues head to South Yorkshire looking to strengthen their grip on fifth spot with eight games to go to secure a place in the Championship play-offs. United, meanwhile, are going all out to avoid that promotion lottery scenario by claiming one of the two automatic spots.
The Blades are currently level with Leeds United on 80 points, the latter of whom lead the table by virtue of a vastly better goal difference, having scored a whopping 26 more. Burnley, meanwhile, are breathing down their necks in third place with 78 points and, again, a far better goal difference (16 more) if it comes down to it on the final day.
The league title is still very much up for grabs, of course, for all of the top three sides looking to return to top flight football. And while the Blades may not be as free scoring as their rivals, Wilder insists his players have found a way to win, and the experienced manager has laid bare his three main tactics to getting three points.
