Sox Out-Slug Cards in Fenway Opening Victory
This was certainly an entertaining way to bring baseball to Boston in 2025!

It’s hard to remember as entertaining an Opening Day game at Fenway in recent memory as what we witnessed Friday afternoon. It’s like everything aligned as well as it could have. Trust me, I’ve been at Opening Days wearing a Canada Goose, praying to god for the Dunks hot chocolate guy to make his rounds and don’t some serious contemplation on if I needed chowdah to keep myself sane. The Boston Red Sox took on the St. Louis Cardinals on a GORGEOUS 65 degree day in Boston. As perfect baseball weather as you can imagine.

If Sox bats were quiet to start the season, they were LOUD this afternoon. Wilyer Abreu continues his magic and it’s rubbed off on the rest of the team, a 16 hit onslaught. Granted, Buehler and co. gave up 13 of their own and made this way too tight until the end.

We also got introduced to the Wally head–which in my opinion is spectacular. If this team is gonna be a monster, may as well embody Wally the Green one.

Three wins in a row and some good momentum back up to .500 ball. Welcome back to Fenway Park!
