Liverpool reportedly had scouts at Portman Road on Saturday afternoon to watch Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap.

Delap, 22, scored his 12th goal of the season against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The strike gave them an early lead before the visitors scored twice after half-time and won 2-1.

That leaves Ipswich 12 points adrift of Wolves with seven matches remaining, double what the six-point deficit could have been if they held on.

They now appear resigned to relegation and a Championship return at the first time of asking. However, the England under-21 international seems unlikely to stay with them in the second-tier.

TBR Football claims Liverpool, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur all had scouts at Ipswich vs Wolves.

They are all said to have been there watching Delap, with those three credited with an interest in the centre-forward alongside Arsenal and Chelsea.

The Reds and Spurs also reportedly watched Wolves players Andre, Joao Gomes and Rayan Ait-Nouri.

Both clubs have purportedly seen the former two play in person previously.

Liverpool were first said to be interested in Andre approaching two years ago now while the Brazil international was still playing for Fluminense.

Gomes, conversely, attracted attention since signing from their Rio de Janeiro rivals, Flamengo.
