Farke’s men are straight back into action with a game against Middlesbrough on Tuesday (8 April) as they attempt to get back on track.
Speaking live on talkSPORT (7 April, 6:55am), Troy Deeney admitted Leeds may have to settle for second as he looked at the table.
He said: “It’s just not a good time of the year to go on this blip, is it? I feel that Leeds are normally better chasing; whenever they’ve gone in front, they just seem not to get over the line. That’s a really disappointing result at the weekend away at Luton.
“Burnley are the team you’ve just got to avoid at all costs, they are just a well-oiled machine, Scott Parker’s got them doing a job.
“They don’t allow in a lot of goals, they’re very solid at the back, and now they’ve started to score loads of goals as well. So they look like they’re going to be the team to run away with it. Burnley are my favourites.”
It does feel slightly like the wheels have started to come off at Elland Road of late.
Not only are Leeds dropping points and not getting results, but Karl Darlow’s call-up to the squad in place of Illan Meslier suggests the boss is doubting his strengths, but desperate times had arrived.
It’s hard to call the Championship title race because there are always curve balls in the second tier and this will no doubt go down to the wire. However, as it stands, Burnley do look as though they are in a great position.
