Jamie Vardy transfer discussed amid Leicester City contract situation
Vardy is out of contract at the King Power Stadium at the end of the season so his future beyond the summer is in the spotlight
Jamie Vardy leaving Leicester City for Wrexham is “crazy to think of”.
That’s the view of Sky Sports pundit Lee Hendrie, who thinks the Foxes striker is still capable of “causing so many problems” for defenders.
The 38-year-old is out of contract at the King Power Stadium at the end of the season so his future beyond the summer is in the spotlight, with City looking doomed to relegation from the Premier League.
He has scored seven goals in the top flight this season, having fired the Foxes to the Championship title last season with 18 league goals.
Wrexham could be in the Championship next season as they battle it out for promotion from League One.
They are currently in second place in League One and on course to seal automatic promotion with four matches left to play.
“Jamie Vardy, obviously the links and the Wrexham chief, Humphrey Ker, that he would certainly consider taking Vardy next season, which is crazy to think of, but he is still capable, I think, of causing so many problems,” Hendrie told Football League World as he discussed Vardy’s situation.
“It looks like Wrexham are going to stand a really good chance of getting into the Championship. He knows that league. He’s still got that pace and cleverness, and something different that they could certainly use.
