Leicester City star’s passion puts new Ruud van Nistelrooy stance to the test in 50-50 decision
There’s a decision to be made at the back for Leicester City’s Premier League clash against Liverpool which may be judged differently with van Nistelrooy’s newfound approach
Caleb Okoli will hope the passion he showed in celebrating his first Leicester City goal will help him keep Wout Faes out of the side to face Liverpool on Sunday.
Okoli met Bilal El Khannouss’s free-kick with a diving header at Brighton to equalise for City, the goal earning the club their first Premier League point since January.
It was only the second senior club goal of the Italian’s career, perhaps explaining his wild celebration. Okoli put his hands to his head in disbelief and then leapt around the pitch, pumping his fists into the air, in front of the travelling fans.
“It was an amazing sensation,” Okoli told the club, looking back on his goal. “As you could tell from my celebration, I couldn’t believe it.
“I was jumping, I saw all of the fans in front of me. I was celebrating with them. It was a really good moment.
“I was so happy, my first goal in the Premier League. And it was the goal to take a point home, so I was really happy.”
