Crystal Palace Want to Sign ‘Extraordinary’ Star for Oliver Glasner
Crystal Palace are one of the sides showing an interest in signing Southampton right-back Kyle Walker-Peters ahead of the summer transfer window, according to a report from CaughtOffside.
Walker-Peters has been a key figure at Southampton both in the Premier League and the Championship after his arrival from Tottenham Hotspur. With the Saints’ relegation back down to the second tier now confirmed, Walker-Peters could seek a move back to the Premier League.
The English full-back is out of contract in the summer transfer window, so he could pick from a host of clubs who will likely be interested in him on a free transfer. Staying at Southampton seems out of the question after their relegation, especially with sides like Palace now interested.
Crystal Palace Interested in Walker-Peters
He’s available on a free
According to a report from CaughtOffside, Crystal Palace are one of the clubs who are showing an interest in signing Walker-Peters in the upcoming summer transfer window. The 28-year-old has declined a new contract with relegated Southampton, and he’s now set to leave for nothing with his deal expiring.

Considering he won’t cost a penny in terms of a transfer fee, he could be a smart signing for a host of clubs in the Premier League. Walker-Peters’ versatility makes him a useful option, with the former Tottenham full-back comfortable playing on either side of defence.
Oliver Glasner currently has Daniel Munoz and Tyrick Mitchell as his wing-back options, but there’s little adequate cover outside of that, especially with Ben Chiwell only on loan for the season. Walker-Peters, described as ‘extraordinary’, could slot in on either side and provide competition and cover, but it’s not going to be easy to win the race for his signature.
Walker-Peters will likely want assurances that he’s going to be a regular starter, and as he’s available on a free, a whole host of clubs will be considering a move.
