West Brom team news and predicted XI to face Coventry City
The latest West Brom team news as Tony Mowbray’s side gear up to face Coventry City in the Championship on Good Friday.
West Brom face Coventry City on Good Friday in a huge clash in the race for the Championship play-offs.
West Brom looked to be drifting out of the play-off picture after a five-game winless run in the Championship. The WBA slump included three straight defeats following the March international break.
However, a narrow victory over Watford last time out has breathed new life into their top-six ambitions. Tom Fellows, who had struggled to replicate his early-season form since strike partner Josh Maja was sidelined, produced a standout display at The Hawthorns.
That win, the Baggies’ first in over a month, lifted them to 7th in the table, just three points adrift of Coventry City, who currently occupy the final play-off berth. A Good Friday win could see Tony Mowbray’s men leapfrog the Sky Blues and firmly re-establish themselves in the promotion race.
While The Hawthorns has largely been a fortress this term, Albion’s away form remains a major concern. They’re without a win in 13 Championship games on the road, with their last success coming at Hull City back in early November.
January saw a number of new faces arrive at West Brom, but marquee signing Adam Armstrong has yet to make the desired impact. The Southampton loanee has found the net just twice in 12 league outings.
Tony Mowbray has not been blessed with injuries in his short time at the club. However, he could welcome back Jed Wallace to this squad this weekend.
Wallace has been out for eight weeks with a muscle problem but the West Brom believes he could take a place on the bench on Friday, as reported by Birmingham Live.
