Every Dodgers prospect ranked on a team top-20 list
With the unveiling of FanGraphs’ top 51 prospects in the Dodgers system on Friday, we have a more complete look at how various minor leaguers in the organization are rated by various evaluators.
In addition to FanGraphs listing 51 players, Baseball America and MLB Pipeline each ranked the top 30 prospects in the system, Baseball Prospectus listed 21 prospects and The Athletic went 20 deep. ESPN listed the top 10 prospects in each system, and CBS Sports went so far as a top three.
Within those lists, a total of 31 players were ranked in the top 20 Dodgers prospects on at least one list, and 16 players were named to at least one top-10 list.
Let’s look at these players, split into a few groups.
Consensus top 10s
Roki Sasaki, Dalton Rushing, Josue De Paula, Zyhir Hope, Alex Freeland, Jackson Ferris
This is the group most familiar, or at least the most written about here. Sasaki is already in the Dodgers rotation, as expected, and was ranked as the top overall prospect in MLB by every outlet that classified him as a prospect. The rest were the others who were named to the most top-100 lists. All of these players (excluding Sasaki) were ranked among the top 10 Dodgers prospects by all of Baseball America, Baseball Prospectus, ESPN, FanGraphs, The Athletic, and MLB Pipeline.
Mostly top 10s
River Ryan, Emil Morales, Eduardo Quintero, Kellon Lindsey, Joendry Vargas, Justin Wrobleski
Ryan is out for the year after Tommy John surgery but was still named to three top-100 prospect lists. He narrowly missed joining the consensus Dodgers top 10, named to five such lists and 11th at Baseball America.
