Narcís Pèlach: The Interview | 'There are no limits to what we can achieve'

Walter’s Stoke City (A) Reaction

Tim Walter praised the mentality of his players after the Tigers fought back to beat Stoke City 3-1 and secure his first win.

Kasey Palmer’s penalty rebound, substitute Regan Slater’s strike and an own goal from Ben Wilmot, who had given the Potters a 30th-minute lead, completed a remarkable second-half turnaround.

“It’s good emotions and a good feeling to have it (the first win),” said Walter.

“That’s what we needed because we are so hard working and the lads deserved to win because they are never doubting and they’re always doing their best, also in the training sessions.

“They’re playing how I want them to play and that’s important. Especially after conceding the goal, it was a different team on the pitch.

“They showed the confidence, the conviction, how strong they are and that’s a good mentality to have.”

Asked what he said at half-time, Walter commented: “That we have to stay patient all the time and control the game. We tried to create and you have to press them down in their own half in the last third.

“We have to bring more crosses and that’s what we can do better. It’s good to have such a mentality that you drive forward, that you try to create, that you try to flick. That’s what we need in the last third.

“You have to be creative against a lower block and the boys did it and we deserved to win.”
