Aaron Rodgers has awkward exchange with Robert Saleh after Jets TD.

Packers fans have seen this look before.

Green Bay Packers fans have seen this before.

Moments after Aaron Rodgers led the New York Jets’ second touchdown drive of the night on Thursday Night Football, he had an interesting exchange with head coach Robert Saleh, to say the least.

Everything seems to be going well for the Jets. Rodgers looks like his old self, throwing for almost 200 yards in the opening half. He connected with former Packers teammate Allen Lazard for a touchdown, his first at MetLife Stadium after getting traded to the Jets, before Breece Hall doubled their lead with a one-yard touchdown run.

However, things didn’t seem quite right as Rodgers headed back to the sideline after the Jets’ second touchdown.

Aaron Rodgers and Robert Saleh embrace in awkward ‘celebration’ in Week 3

While Rodgers celebrated with his head coach, it appeared he had some words for Saleh before walking off. You be the judge. Here’s the video:

It’s hard to make out what Rodgers says, but he doesn’t look happy about something. Maybe it was the play call or a previous decision on the drive? In any case, the Jets scored a touchdown, so all’s well that ends well, right? It could be nothing and both are just celebrating—it’s hard to tell.

Maybe there’s nothing to it and we’re overreacting?

But Rodgers didn’t look pleased (but maybe he was?), which is even more surprising as the Jets offense have had their way. Rodgers is playing his best football of the season, and it’s hard to believe he is 40 years old and coming off a torn Achilles. The four-time MVP is moving comfortably and making vintage Rodgers throws. It’s great to hear the “Green 19” cadence again.

He has thrown to Lazard early and often—it’s like old times. Maybe there’s something to the Rodgers-Saleh embrace, and maybe there isn’t. Either way, it looked awkward.
