Josko Gvardiol labels “quality” West Ham star as one of his toughest opponents, he’s tipped him for big things this season

Muhammed Kudus has garnered a lot of praise since his West Ham move.

Signed from Dutch giants Ajax, the Hammers beat a number of top European clubs to the Ghanaian’s signature, securing the attacker for £38m.

The 24-year-old has gone from strength to strength since arriving on English shores notching 20 goal contributions during his first season in east London.

Now under the tutelage of new West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui, Kudus is now expected to build upon his impressive debut campaign, with a certain fellow Premier League star tipping him to make a big impact this season.

Speaking on the ‘Man City podcast‘, the Croatian international reflected on the highlights of City’s title win last season. During the interview he was questioned on his toughest opponents and cited Kudus as one of them, singing the praises of the West Ham star in the process.

“If we talk about a player then I would like to say last season it was Kudus from West Ham. I remember the first game he was on the bench, so he came in for the last 15/20 minutes. He was playing on my side so I was like, ‘He looks sharp and he’s good on the ball’.

“Then I remember the second game at the end of the season when he scored the bicycle kick. He was the one who I struggled the most to play against, and I think he’s the one who deserves more attention. I believe this season, he’s going to come out and show his quality
