Hull City plan January transfer raid as highly-rated midfielder linked
The January transfer talk is already well underway
Hull City completed their 17th signing since the end of last season last Thursday when the Tigers signed Joao Pedro following his release from Fenerbahce last month and already attention is turning to January.
City will attack the winter transfer market as they have done in previous seasons and ahead of the window opening on January 1, Tim Walter’s side have been linked with highly-rated Lincoln City midfielder Ethan Erhahon.
The defensive midfielder, who models his game on Manchester City’s influential star Rodri, is widely regarded as one of the top talents in League One and enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in the EFL last term for the Imps, collecting the Players’ Player of the Year crown after his move south of the border from St Mirren, having played 85 times in the Scottish Premiership.
“I don’t think clubs in the Championship will be doing their jobs properly if there wasn’t interest,” George said in a conversation with BBC Radio Lincolnshire earlier this year. “He has been exceptional.
“It’s about career progression and the right club. So, if the right club comes in with the right financial package for Ethan that could be life-changing, quadrupling his wages, and it is an absolutely huge number for Lincoln City, then as a football club we have to look at that.
