Stoke City to make checks on attacker ahead of Portsmouth clash as defender returns
Stoke City boss Narcis Pelach has said Million Manhoef will be ‘assessed’ ahead of their upcoming Championship clash.
Stoke City are back in action at home to Portsmouth on Tuesday night as they look to return to winning ways. They were beaten 2-0 against Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium this past weekend.
Manhoef, 22, went off during the game at Boro with a leg problem early in the second-half. He will now have to be checked over the course of the next 24 hours.
In this latest update regarding his condition, Pelach has said, as per a report by StokeOnTrentLive:“(Manhoef) was not feeling well and asked for the change. He will have to be assessed.”
Meanwhile, defender Ashley Phillips is poised to return to the squad following a spell out due to concussion protocols. The 19-year-old is on loan from Tottenham Hotspur and will be pushing to get into the team.
Stoke City injury latest
Manhoef gives Stoke City more competition and depth on the wing so it would be a blow if he wasn’t available against Portsmouth.
The Potters landed him in February and he is under contract at the Bet365 Stadium until the summer of 2027.
