Hull City’s Late Transfer Business Dubbed Spectacular By Former EFL Star

Former EFL star Adrian Clarke has praised Hull City for the transfer businesses they did at the end of the recently closed window and hailed them as spectacular.

Last season, Hull finished seventh in Championship and narrowly missed out on a playoff spot, something which led to the exit of Liam Rosenior, and decided to revamp the squad this summer.

However, Hull failed to start the season in a good manner, which led the Tigers hierarchy to sign a host of new players in the hopes of strengthening their squad at the end of the summer window.

Clarke stated that Hull’s early signings failed to impress him but admitted that Tim Walter’s side finished the transfer window strongly.

He stressed that he rates centre-back Charlie Hughes, who Hull signed recently, quite highly and highlighted that Carl Rushworth’s arrival also caught his eye.

Clarke also pointed out that Hull did well by securing the signatures of last season’s standout performers, Coventry City’s Kasey Palmer and Portsmouth’s Abu Kamara.

“I was not impressed by their window up until the end”, Clarke said on What The EFL.

“They ended up getting Charlie Hughes from Wigan, who is a player I really like as a centre half.

“They have got Carl Rushworth, superb in goal for Swansea last year.

Kasey Palmer, we know how good he is and Abu Kamara, who was magnificent for Pompey during the second half of the last season.

“I think Hull closed the window spectacularly well.”

Hull have yet to win a game in the Championship this season and Walter will be hoping that with the help of new arrivals, the Tigers will be able to get back to winning ways.
